APFORGEN’s Secretariat:

• Prepares and disseminates documents and reports as requested by the chair and/or national coordinators
• Makes logistical arrangements for meetings and events
• Maintains the APFORGEN website and mailing list
• Manages funds on behalf of APFORGEN
• Assists chairs and national coordinators in identifying potential funding and other resources
• Assists chairs and national coordinators with APFORGEN communication materials

The Secretariat is hosted by the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT which also provides technical support to APFORGEN. The Alliance is a global research-for-development organization that delivers scientific evidence, management practices and policy options to use and safeguard agricultural biodiversity as a means to acheive sustainable global food and nutrition security. The Alliance works with partners in low-income countries where agricultural biodiversity can contribute to improved nutrition, resilience, productivity and climate change adaptation. The Alliance is a member of the CGIAR Consortium, a global research partnership for a food secure future.

Until 2017, the Secretariat was hosted by the Asia-Pacific Association of Forestry Research Institutions (APAFRI)
