The International Union of Forestry Research Institutions (IUFRO) celebrates its 125 years with an anniversary congress held in Freiburg, Germany, from 19 to 22 September 2017. The call for abstracts is open until 30 November 2016. Bioversity International, World Agroforestry Centre and FAO will jointly organize a session on research contributing to the implementation of the Global Plan of Action on Forest Genetic Resources. The session is entitled “Tree biodiversity at the genetic level: vital to confront environmental and livelihood challenges” (session no. 23, general congress, theme 4).
