REPORT: State of the World’s plants

The report provides, for the first time, a baseline assessment of our current knowledge on the diversity of plants on earth, the global threats these plants currently face, and the policies dealing with them. Currently, 391,000 vascular plants are known to science; 31,128 plants have a documented use; 106,700 plants are represented by at least one DNA region in GenBank, and one in five plant species are threatened.
